The Story
Hey it's SN. Hope yall are doing well.
I'm just a guy who wanted to share a story with the world. Stories have been a large part of my life, especially anime, manga, manwha, light novels etc. where they have genuinely changed my perspective on life. I believe that fictional stories, unlike non fiction, are one of the best ways you can learn a variety of things. Not like facts, but in a way where you can learn how to be a better person or understand other people through the experiences of characters. It's like artificially adding to your own life experiences in a way.
That's how I want to impact other people through Dreams of Heaven, where the characters are people you can genuinely connect to and admire. At it's core, Dreams of Heaven is a character-centric coming of age story which goal is to inspire others to pursue their own dreams and persevere through their own circumstances to do so; like how I'm pursuinng my own goals in writing DOH. I want to be able to prove that if some random bum like me can do it, then anyone can do what they want to do in life as well.
This story is a long time in the making. I've been making up random scenes and characters as well that I felt cool since I started watching anime when I was 12. It wasn't until 2024 when I decided I wanted to combine all of my ideas into one cohesive storyline which became DOH. Despite how long I've been working on it, it's nowhere near finished or as polished as I want it to be.
The Influences
Regarding inspirations, I would like to give a special shoutout to One Piece, Tower of God, and Re:Zero which are what I consider the main influences to the story. As you read DOH, the influences from these stories are painfully obvious within my work haha. I have always admired the grand scale of the world building within One Piece and Tower of God as well as Subaru's character in Re:Zero and I wanted to combine them along with some of my own personal touches to make it unique and my own. There was also a disgusting amount of romance animes referenced so that front is covered well for DOH, I was always annoyed that adventure stories tend to be quite weak in that area. The Persona game series and Gintama also helped me realize the importance of characters within stories and getting to know them beyond a base level can contribute so much towards your affection towards the overall story.
About myself I like to listen to music as well as practice mixed martial arts on my own time. These also heavily influenced the story, where real life fights are referenced during fight scenes as well as some of my favourite songs playing during so many moments throughout the story.
The Goal
Anyways, right now my goal is to either get famous enough to fund an anime for DOH or make enough money to fund it myself... it looks like I still have a long road ahead of me. But we all do so I don't have the right to complain, it is what it is. Nothing worthwhile in life is easy to get.
